Frequently Asked Questions

01

What can I expect during my first session?

In our first session, we slow things down. I'll get to know what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and where things feel stuck. You don't have to have the perfect words or know exactly where to begin. I will guide you.  My priority is to ensure you feel safe, understood, and supported from the moment we begin.

02

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am in-network with several insurance providers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna). I DO NOT take insurance for couples therapy. Relationships do not meet the standard guidelines for medical necessity. Please review your plans for family therapy codes.

03

How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?

Most sessions are 50 minutes+, once a week or every other week, depending on your goals. Intensives are longer, structured experiences that range from 2-4 hours in a single day. We'll decide together what frequency supports your healing.

04

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes, I only offer secure virtual therapy for individuals, couples, and families anywhere in North Carolina. Many clients love this option because it feels comfortable and convenient.

05

What is your approach to therapy?

I blend family-systems work, trauma-informed care, and honest conversation. And if you ask, I'll incorporate a little faith talk! My style is warm, direct, and grounded. I help you understand patterns, build healthier communication, and create practical tools you can use at home.

06

What's the difference between a workshop and an intensive?

Workshops are shorter, educational, and community-based. They are great for learning new tools.

Intensives are private, deep-dive sessions designed for breakthrough and reconnection in a focused amount of time. They are ideal when you want concentrated healing beyond weekly therapy.

07

How do I know if an intensive is right for us?

An intensive may be right for you if you're feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, and you want results sooner. If you're ready for focused time, guided exercises, and a structured process that creates real movement, an intensive can be a powerful next step.

08

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?

Trust your spirit. If you're looking for someone warm, honest, faith-rooted, and experienced with relationships, communication, and generational patterns, you'll feel right at home here. I also tell jokes (sometimes they land). The best way to know is to schedule a consultation and see how the room feels for you.

09

How do I pay for services?

I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA cards. A deposit must be made for workshops and intensives.
