Meet Cicely Simon, LMFT
Founder of Dear Family Counseling * Therapist * Speaker * Advocate for Family Healing
Who Am I?
I believe healing starts when people feel safe, seen, and supported. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I help individuals, couples and families break unhealthy patterns, strengthen communication, and rebuild connection. My work is rooted in compassion, honesty, faith, and a deep commitment to helping you show up whole in your relationship and your life.
Why I Started Dear Family Counseling
I created Dear Family Counseling because I saw how many people were carrying pain they didn't have words for: stress from parenting, communication breakdowns, relationship wounds, and the weight of generational trauma. I wanted to build a space where families could breathe again, feel supported, and heal without judgment.

My passion is helping people understand their patterns, rewrite their stories, and build the kind of connections they've always wanted but never knew how to create. This work is personal to me because I know the power of healing, and I've seen firsthand how it transforms families for generations.
Professional Background
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina with extensive experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through:

-
Parenting challenges

Trauma and generational patterns

A Little More About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I'm a wife, mom, and storyteller at heart. I'm also a published author! I love laughter, journaling, encouraging others, and finding joy in simple moments. My faith guides my approach, my family grounds me, and my passion is helping people heal in ways that create peace for their homes and their hearts.
How I Work
My approach is warm, direct, faith-rooted, and practical. In therapy, we focus on:
-
Understanding the deeper "why" behind your patterns
-
Building tools that actually work in real-life moments
-
Restoring communication and emotional safety
-
Honoring your pace and your story
My goal is to help you heal, not just cope.
